ANTIGONI to represent Cyprus  Eurovision 2026 Participant

CyBC, The Cyprus Broadcasting Corporation, announced toda,y 6th November, that Cyprus will be represented at the 70th Eurovision Song Contest by ANTIGONI.

On Eurovision.tv, the EBU stated:

“As our first artist of Vienna 2026, Antigoni also has the honour of premiering the 70th Eurovision Song Contest’s introduction videos which we’ll be releasing to our social media channels every time we have a new performer added to May’s lineup.”

The 30-year-old Greek-Cypriot star, who shot to fame on Love Island UK Season 8 in 2022, was selected through an internal process by public broadcaster CyBC (RIK) that evaluated eight finalists, including chart-toppers Josephine and Giorgos Perris.

Antigoni Buxton is a British-Cypriot singer and songwriter from North London. She is the daughter of Greek-Cypriot television presenter and chef Tonia Buxton and has grown up surrounded by both British and Cypriot culture.

Named after her Grandmother, Antigoni signed a publishing deal at age 14, and has since been developing a powerfully original sound that incorporates her cultural roots with her city based surroundings.

Antigoni has grown her audience & solidified herself as an artist to watch, having been a prominent artist in Nikos Vertis’ YTON. Combining this with her incredibly strong voice & evocative lyrics, Antigoni has been touted as a key musician to watch in 2025.

Antigoni has released several singles, including “Long Way Home”, “Never Gonna Love” and “Hit List”. Her music often features bilingual lyrics and reflects her identity as both British and Cypriot.

At the 69th Contest in Basel, Cyprus was represented by Theo Evan and his song Shh, which picked up 44 points in the First Semi-Final for an 11th-place finish.

The Grand Final of the 70th edition will be held on Saturday, 16 May at the Wiener Stadthalle, Austria’s largest indoor arena, with Semi-Finals earlier the same week on Tuesday, 12 May and Thursday, 14 May.
