As revealed by The Recording Academy yesterday November 7th. Kpop Demon Hunters have gained multiple Grammy nominations.
KPop Demon Hunters is a 2025 American animated musical film directed by Maggie Kang and Chris Appelhans. It was produced by Sony Pictures Animation for Netflix.
The film follows a K-pop girl group, Huntr/x, who lead double lives as demon hunters; they face off against a rival boy band, the Saja Boys, whose members are secretly demons.
The first nomination is Song Of The Year, it is “A Songwriter Award. A song is eligible if it was first released or if it first achieved prominence during the Eligibility Year.”. The nomination is for “Golden” written by EJAE & Mark Sonnenblick.
HUNTR/X’s Vocal Actors are EJAE, Audrey Nuna and REI Ami. Ejae is a South Korean and American singer, songwriter, and record producer. Known previously for her work with Red Velvet, Aespa, Twice, Le Sserafim, and other South Korean artists.
Rei Ami is a Korean-American singer, rapper and voice actress. Initially presenting a rap sound, she released her debut studio album, Foil, and later rose to prominence with the song “Freak” with Sub Urban in 2020.
Audrey Nuna, is an American singer and rapper. She is best known for her singles “Damn Right” and “Comic Sans” (featuring Jack Harlow).She was born and raised in New Jersey.
“Golden” by HUNTR/X is also nominated for Best Pop Duo/Group Performance which is “For new vocal or instrumental duo/group or collaborative pop recordings. Singles or Tracks only.”
“Golden”, the album’s second single, eventually reached number one on the Billboard Global 200, number one on the US Billboard Hot 100, and in South Korea became the third song in 2025 to achieve a perfect all-kill on the charts, as well as breaking the record for most number of hourly perfect all-kills of all time.
David Guetta is nominated for his remix of “Golden” performed by HUNTR/X: EJAE, Audrey Nuna, REI AMI.
The soundtrack is nominated for Best Compilaton Soundtrack For Visual Media which is “Award(ed) to the principal artist(s) and/or ‘in studio’ producer(s) of a majority of the tracks on the album”.
The film’s soundtrack became the first in the history of the Billboard Hot 100 to feature four of its songs in the top ten, which include “Golden”, “Your Idol”, “Soda Pop”, and “How It’s Done”.
The film’s original songs were written by Danny Chung, Ido, Vince, Kush, Ejae, Jenna Andrews, Stephen Kirk, Lindgren, Mark Sonnenblick, and Daniel Rojas; and produced by Teddy Park, 24, Ido, Dominsuk, Andrews, Kirk, Lindgren, and Ian Eisendrath. Marcelo Zarvos composed the score.
Lastly “Golden” and songwriters EJAE & Mark Sonnenblick are nominated for Best Song Written For Visual Media which is “Best Song Written For Visual Media
A Songwriter(s) award. For a song (melody & lyrics) written specifically for a motion picture, television, video games or other visual media, and released for the first time during the Eligibility Year.”
The 2026 GRAMMYS take place Sunday, Feb. 1, at Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles, broadcasting live on the CBS Television Network and streaming live and on demand on Paramount+.
