Over 660 Songs submitted for Festival da Canção 2026, where the final is scheduled to take place on Saturday, 7th of March 2026.
As in previous editions, six of the entries submitted through the public call will join the songs directly invited by RTP. The broadcaster’s internal selection process is already complete, as stated in an Instagram Post.
Festival da Canção 2026 will once again serve as Portugal’s pathway to the Eurovision Song Contest. The live shows are expected to take place in February and March 2026,
There will be two semi-finals and a grand final, where the Portuguese public and an expert jury will decide who will represent the country at Eurovision 2026.
Festival RTP da Canção is the name given to the national final produced and broadcast by the Portuguese public broadcaster to select its entry for the Eurovision Song Contest. It was first held in 1964.
The 70th edition of the Eurovision Song Contest will be organised in Vienna, Austria. The two semi-finals will take place on May 12 and 14, and the final of the contest is scheduled for May 16.
