The Portuguese broadcaster RTP has announced all the composers and the artists that will compete at Festival da Canção 2026.
The 8 composers invited directly by RTP are:
- André Amaro
- Bandidos do Cante
- Bateu Matou
- Cristina Branco
- Djodje
- EVAYA
- Inês Sousa
- Marquise
While the six artists who have been selected for the contest via the open submissions process are:
- AGRIDOCE
- Francisco Fontes
- Gonçalo Gomes
- Jacaréu
- Rita Dias
- Sandrino
Dinis Mota is the composer who was selected through the Prova de Acesso (Access Test), while Nunca Mates o Mandarim is the band that was invited by the former winners Napa.
RTP invites the public to follow this annual celebration of Portuguese music also through Antena 1, once again the official radio station of the Festival da Canção.
The new season of the podcast “Falar Pelos Dois” (Speaking For Both) is confirmed to be premiering in December 2025.
The semi-finals of the 60th Festival da Canção will take place on February 21st and 28th , and the Grand Final will be held on March 7th, 2026, and will be broadcast live on RTP 1, RTP Internacional and RTP Play.
