DR has announced that that TV and radio host Sara Bro and actor Alex Høgh Andersen will the 56th edition of Dansk Melodi Grand Prix on February 14, 2026,
Dansk Melodi Grand Prix will be broadcast live from Arena Nord in Frederikshavn, will go on sale on Friday, November 7, 2025 at 10:00 AM.
Sara Bro will host the traditional music competition again, while Alex Høgh Andersen will step into a role as a TV host for the very first time.
Alex Høgh Andersen has stated: “I don’t think it’s really dawned on me yet. It’s a cliché answer, but it’s good enough. It’ll probably only hit me when I’m standing next to Sara at the dress rehearsal“
He added: “I am very excited and a little nervous, but first and foremost I am grateful for the opportunity and am looking forward to challenging myself on a personal level.”
The two hosts are not the only ones looking forward to it, however. The team behind Dansk Melodi Grand Prix is also looking forward to the big night.
The program manager for Dansk Melodi Grand Prix Erik Struve Hansen stated: “We are looking forward to once again bringing the Danes together for the biggest and most traditional show in Denmark, which year after year contributes new music, new voices and memories for posterity.”
He added: “Hosts Sara Bro and Alex Høgh Andersen will bring everyone together across generations, and the ambition is that the atmosphere from Arena Nord in Frederikshavn will reach all the way into Danish living rooms at the Grand Prix parties all over the country,”
The Dansk Melodi Grand Prix will be broadcast live on DR1 and DRTV on Saturday, February 14, 2026.
