Kpop Artists and agencies donate HK$13,450,000 towards Hong Kong fire relief

Multiple K-pop artists and agencies have donated a total of HK$13,450,000 towards Hong Kong fire relief, which is approximately €1.5 million or 2.5 billion won.

According to local media reports, including the Hong Kong Daily, a massive fire broke out at 2:52 p.m. on the 26th at Wang Fuk Court, a 32-story residential high-rise apartment complex in Tai Po District, northern Hong Kong. 

The fire was finally extinguished after 43 hours, but left a staggering 94 dead and 76 injured. The initial count of approximately 200 missing people is still ongoing.

JYP Entertainment, announced their donation through Weibo. Stray Kids donated HK$2 Million (approximately €222,000 ) to the Hong Kong Red Cross, saying

“We send our deepest condolences and comfort to all those who lost their loved ones and homes due to the unfortunate large-scale fire in Hong Kong. We hope that small warmth can come together across mountains and seas to become light, and we sincerely hope that the affected residents will find peace and overcome these difficulties quickly.”

Stray Kids also announced their donation through Weibo. Stray Kids donated HK$1 Million (approximately €111,000 ) to the Hong Kong Red Cross, saying:

“We hope that the residents affected by the fire and their families who are going through a difficult time will quickly return to their daily lives.”

Place announced its donation through Weibo. Place donated HK$250,000 (approximately €28,000) to the Hong Kong Red Cross, saying:

“We express our sincere condolences to all the victims and express our deepest respect to those who risked their lives for the rescue efforts.”

HYBE MUSIC GROUP APAC also announced their donation of HK$2.6 mill (approximately €288,000) to The Hope Bridge National Disaster Relief Association stating.

“We extend our heartfelt condolences to everyone who is experiencing great shock and sorrow from this sudden accident. We hope that the damage will be resolved as soon as possible and that the community will return to its normal life.

WAKEONE, the agency representing artists like ZB1, Kepler, Izna and ALD1 also announced their donation of HK$1 mill (approximately €111,000) to The Hope Bridge National Disaster Relief Association stating:

“We express our deepest condolences to the people of Hong Kong who have suffered great damage and wounds from the unexpected fire, and we extend our heartfelt condolences, however small.”

EXO CBX (Chen, Baekhyun and Xiumin) announced their donation through Weibo. Place donated HK$500,000 (approximately €56,000) to the Hong Kong Red Cross, saying:

“We express our deepest respect to all those who are dedicated to rescue and recovery efforts amidst danger, and we earnestly hope that the damage in the accident area is quickly resolved and that we can return to our peaceful daily lives as soon as possible.”

Artists from SM Entertainment donated HK$3 million in total to relief efforts, which included aespa (HK$500,000), Riize (HK$250,000 Hong Kong dollars), WayV (HK$250,000) and Super Junior (HK$1 million).

I-dle’s Yuqi donated ¥1 million (€122,000) to the Fosun Foundation in China to support emergency relief and reconstruction in the affected areas.

YG Entertainment, whose affiliated groups BabyMonster and Treasure will perform on stage at the ‘2025 MAMA Awards’ and whose CEO Yang Hyun-suk is also known to be in attendance, also donated HK$1 million.

According to Hong Kong’s Tung Wah Hospital on the 27th, GOT7’s Jackson and his clothing brand TeamWang donated HK$1 million (€111,000) to support the victims.
